Now You Can Look Like Elsa From 'Frozen' on Your Wedding Day

And just when you thought the world’s “Frozen” obsession was, well, freezing, it has found its way back into an entirely new market –– fashion. Disney Consumer Products is collaborating with wedding-and bridesmaid-gown designer Alfred Angelo to bring Elsa’s famous Snow Queen dress from the big screen to reality.
Michele Piccione, Angelo’s chief creative officer and designer of the dress, was inspired by the melodious (and infectious) tune “Let It Go,” according to InStyle. He noted that some of the dress’s elements draw on the moment when Anna’s sister was transformed and finally began to embrace her icy powers. “We wanted to translate Elsa’s inner beauty and individuality into a sophisticated gown that exudes this,” he said.

While the verdict is still out about whether brides will want to wear a Disney-inspired dress on the day of their nuptials — albeit still wanting to feel like a Disney princess, which is totally reasonable — the retailer is on point with this season’s trend in colored wedding dresses. Like the animated character’s dress, the “Frozen” gown will be blue. Additionally, the dress will have a Watteau train, and a heavily beaded bodice with a sweetheart neckline made with layers of satin, tulle, glitter net and organza.” Oscar de la Renta, Jenny Packham, and Moniqiue Lhuillier are just some among a handful of designers whose 2015 bridal collections included colors on their runways –– fabrics in shades of green, pink, and yellow besides the more customary beige, ivory, and white.
“Frozen” isn’t the only Disney film with a line of gowns. The Disney Boutique sells dresses based on characters such as Ariel from “The Little Mermaid,” Rapunzel from “Tangled,” Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog,” and others. Each costs about $1,200.
So, what would you do? Stick with traditional hues or say “I do” in a pop of color? Our thoughts? Let it go! (Pun intended.)
The Elsa wedding dress will be available in January 2015.
